About Lumina Eye Care
We are a full-scope optometry practice in Thornhill, Ontario, specializing in myopia control and orthokeratology. We started offering our wide range of eye services five years ago.
Our services include comprehensive eye exams for adults and children, teaching and fitting of contact lens, and ocular emergencies. Also, post-operative management for cataracts and laser eye surgery is taken care of by our experienced doctors.
We are a team of three doctors and two full-time staff who work at different times of the week. Consequently, during the COVID-19 pandemic, our clinic is open from Monday through Saturday to serve patients.
We have patients visiting us from across Markham, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Vaughan, Scarborough, Toronto, and the surrounding areas.
The Lumina Eye Care Difference
One aspect that makes us second to none is that we are committed to using state-of-the-art equipment, including specialized retinal imaging, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and medmont topographer that allows us to do orthokeratology more precisely.
We have a visual field machine to perform peripheral field tests, such as the ones required by the ministry of transportation for license renewal or application. Additionally, we have recently introduced an OCT to help with the diagnosis and management of various eye conditions.
What also sets us apart is that we have an excellent selection of children’s frames to assist patients in controlling their nearsightedness via the glasses route. We help patients improve their quality of life by enhancing their vision and visual comfort. It’s an approach that has made us achieve noteworthy success.
One of our most significant achievements has been winning the Top Choice Award in 2020. We are also proud that our existing patients regularly refer their friends and family to our clinic.
Our dream for the future is to become the top practice in providing myopia management in Markham while continuing to provide patient-centric care for the surrounding community.
While we are passionate about what we do, we also care about protecting the environment and, in this endeavor, participate in the contact lens recycling program, and collect old glasses for donations.
