Probably the best experience I've dealt with so far, for my child when going in for medical appointments. Originally, I had called the office after scouring the internet in search for an eye clinic that was not only reputable, but good with young children - no answer for over 30 minutes. And upon receiving a callback from their office after I left a voice-mail, the receptionist certainly wasn't overly friendly. That's ok, as I was willing to still give this place a chance. When my daughter had an initial test done with a medical assistant, she was very polite and courteous. About 5 min later, we saw Dr. Yu. I'm very used to all types of doctors being horrendously late and nothing less than a 30 min wait, which tells me that their office and their service is poorly run and managed. Dr Yu's bedside manners was nothing short of exceptional. She was kind, informative, polite, patient and understanding. She also provided me with well detailed information while conducting her tests. We will definitely be coming back.

Had my first appointment with Dr. Deng and staff and cannot recommend them enough. They were very helpful and professional throughout my eye exam. They helped me sort out my insurance claim and pick out new glasses. Have recommended this place to others and will be back myself

They cancelled my appointment. To be more precise, they called 1 hour before my scheduled appointment to let me know they needed to cancel and then reschedule because their doctor was sick. I booked this 1 week in advance and booked time off work to make it. No apology was provided by their staff and the message was delivered very matter-of-factly: "Hi, um, we need to reschedule your appointment." Unprofessional delivery and no respect for their customer's time. I understand people get sick. But you are running a business and need to take responsibility for situations like this. Replacement doctors, offer an apology at least, offer to try fit into earliest available next option and offer a concession as an apology. Take accountability for the situation. Very disappointing experience and I would encourage all to seek business elsewhere. Update: Received a call back (same day as scheduled appointment, presumably after seeing this review). The doctor was very apologetic and professional, promising to address the situation with the staff member that called me initially. They also offered to schedule me in for today in the late afternoon. I appreciate them taking ownership and trying to resolve the situation appropriately.

I am always very skeptical when trying to purchase prescription glasses from a place I haven't been to before because I really need to take my time to find a suitable frame since only specific kinds suit my facial features. Well, I am very happy that I chose Lumina Eye Care to get my new glasses from. Every single person who works there is respectful, attentive, professional and supportive. The quality of my glasses and its lenses are superb. I even had to go back for minor adjustments and they were very helpful. Be coming here with my family for almost a decade now. Dr. Yu is attentive and straight forward. She understands my genetic history and keeps an eye out for certain issues as well.

Not only was she caring and professional, but she also recognized that we weren't fluent in English and took the time to communicate with us in Cantonese. Dr. Yu went above and beyond by providing valuable advice regarding my children's eye therapy options, taking into consideration the differences between Hong Kong and the current location. I simply can't say enough about this place! Dr. Yu is a true professional; highly skilled, patient and kind, and very gentle. Throughout the years I've had occasion to see two of the other doctors and their care and treatment was outstanding as well. The office is modern, immaculate, and is run efficiently. The staff take time to explain and answer questions. And they were most accommodating when I contacted them with an unexpected eye issue. It's actually a pleasure to go to these appointments. Lumina Eye Care could be the model for other health care facilities...how I wish all clinics were like this!

I can't recommend this Lumina Eye Care highly enough. In fact, I already have recommended it to family and friends. I started seeing Dr. Joanna Yu a few years ago. Her clinic employs friendly and professional staff. The clinic is clean, modern and has high tech machinery. It also has a great selection of glasses and sunglasses. Dr. Yu has a gentle demeanour (I'm terrified of going to the eye doctor but feel comfortable with her) and explains everything thoroughly.

I was impressed with Dr. Yu. She was thorough and took the time to fully explain everything to me. HH
